Drake Hotline Bling (yes/no), Distracted Boyfriend (temptation), Two Buttons (impossible choice), Expanding Brain (escalating takes), Change My Mind (hot takes), Woman Yelling At Cat (accusation vs denial), Gru's Plan (the surprise fourth panel), Bernie I Am Once Again Asking, Anakin Padme 4 Panel (the 'right?' pause), Disaster Girl, Ancient Aliens, One Does Not Simply Walk Into Mordor, Panik Kalm Panik, Buff Doge vs Cheems, This Is Fine (dog + fire), Tuxedo Winnie The Pooh (fancy vs plain), Waiting Skeleton, Surprised Pikachu, Hide The Pain Harold, Left Exit 12 Off Ramp, Bell Curve (midwit), Spider-Man Pointing (three-way), Mocking SpongeBob, Batman Slapping Robin, Sad Pablo Escobar, The Rock Driving, Clown Applying Makeup, American Chopper Argument, Trade Offer, Roll Safe Think About It, Laughing Leo — plus Megamind No Bitches, Oprah You Get A, Pawn Stars Best I Can Do, Scroll Of Truth, Futurama Fry, Hide The Pain Harold, Evil Kermit, Sleeping Shaq, UNO Draw 25 Cards, Boardroom Meeting Suggestion, Blank Nut Button, Grandma Finds The Internet, Always Has Been, Monkey Puppet, Is This A Pigeon, Mother Ignoring Kid, They're The Same Picture, X X Everywhere, I Bet He's Thinking About Other Women, Epic Handshake, and the open-ended Blank Canvas. Each one opens with its text boxes pre-positioned so the setup + punchline fall in the right zones — just type your caption and hit download.

Why Impact Font

The Impact + black-outline white-text style is the visual grammar of internet memes. It became the convention in the late 2000s because Impact shipped pre-installed on Windows, had narrow bold glyphs that read at any size, and the heavy stroke stayed legible when layered over any background — dark or light, simple or busy. Every major meme format since — Grumpy Cat, Philosoraptor, Distracted Boyfriend, Drakeposting captions — uses it. Using any other font for a caption meme makes it instantly read as not-a-meme.

The Top / Bottom Text Convention

The classic format separates setup (top) from punchline (bottom) so the eye reads them in order. The image sits between the two lines as the shared referent — 'when you X' / 'and then Y' with the picture illustrating the in-between. This is why top-and-bottom beats single-caption for most meme formats; the structure itself does work.

No Watermark, No Upload

Most online meme generators add a tiny watermark to the corner of every download. We don't. The image you export is exactly what you composed — nothing added, nothing removed, no branding. And the image doesn't leave your device at any point: it's drawn onto a browser canvas locally and the PNG is built from that canvas in your device's memory. Your subject matter is your business.

Tune Font-Size And Stroke For Any Image

Defaults work for most images — font-size is 8.5% of image height, stroke is 8% of font-size. But small images need proportionally larger text to stay readable; dense backgrounds need a heavier stroke so the caption doesn't get lost. Nudge the sliders until both lines pop cleanly off whatever background you've chosen. The preview updates in real time.

FAQ

Do you host a template library?

Yes — 50 classic meme formats ship with the tool, from Drake and Distracted Boyfriend to Expanding Brain and Panik Kalm Panik. Each template seeds its text boxes in the right spots automatically, so you can just type the caption and export. You can also upload your own image, shuffle for a random one, or start from a blank canvas.

What font is used?

Impact — the universal meme font. On devices without Impact installed (rare), the browser falls back to the closest bold sans-serif, which looks visually similar.

Can I change colours?

By default captions are white text with a black outline — the standard that's been recognised as 'meme' since 2006. You can override the fill and stroke colours in the Style card, and adjust font-size and stroke-width with the sliders.

Is there a watermark?

No. Most online meme generators stamp their URL in the corner; we don't. Your download is exactly what you composed — no branding, no ads, no tracking.

Where does my image go?

Nowhere. The template and your caption are composited onto a browser canvas locally, and the PNG is built from that canvas in your device's memory. The only thing your browser requests is the template image itself from our static CDN — nothing is uploaded and nothing about your caption ever leaves your device.
