Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Convertful (“the Service”), operated by Convertful (“we”, “us”, “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you must not access or use the Service. Your continued use of the Service following the posting of any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.

2. Description of Service

Convertful provides free, browser-based file conversion tools. All file processing happens locally on your device using client-side technologies such as WebAssembly and the Canvas API. We do not upload, receive, access, store, or transmit your files at any point. The Service is provided free of charge and may be supported by advertisements from third-party providers.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's consent to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

4. User accounts

You may optionally create an account to access additional features such as your conversion dashboard and history. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account at our sole discretion, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to the Service or other users.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose
• Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or degrade the performance of the Service or its infrastructure
• Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with rate limits, security measures, or access controls
• Use automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access or interact with the Service beyond normal individual use
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service except as permitted by applicable law
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
• Use the Service to convert files that you do not have the legal right to process

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action, including blocking access, against anyone who violates these provisions.

6. Intellectual property

The Convertful name, logo, branding, website design, and original content are our property or the property of our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written consent. Your files remain entirely yours — we never have access to them. Open-source libraries used by the Service retain their respective licences.

7. Third-party services and content

The Service may include or link to third-party services, advertisements, or content. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for any third-party services or content. Your interactions with third-party providers are solely between you and them, and are subject to their terms and policies.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or that conversion results will be accurate or complete. You use the Service and rely on conversion results at your own risk and discretion.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Convertful and its operators, affiliates, officers, employees, agents, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Service. Because all file processing is performed locally on your device, we bear no responsibility whatsoever for data loss, file corruption, or any damage to files or data during or resulting from conversion. Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, which in the case of a free service is zero.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Convertful and its operators, affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights; or (d) any content or files you process using the Service.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, at our sole discretion, with or without notice. You may stop using the Service at any time. Upon termination, all provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive will survive, including but not limited to intellectual property provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnification, and limitations of liability.

12. Changes to these Terms

We reserve the right to modify, amend, or replace these Terms at any time, at our sole discretion, for any reason. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. We will indicate the date of the most recent revision by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your binding acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

14. Entire agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Convertful regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral.
